The goal is to create a community where all are safe, healthy, properly educated, equitable and productive. We will work to ensure that every person in our community has strong protective factors, equal resources and the right opportunity to develop their full potential in order to be functioning and productive in the community. Through a multi-disciplinary approach and collaborative efforts from community members, organizations, businesses, and others, we will refine, reform, and rebuild our urban community. Our initiatives will target young people who are disproportionately at risk to be both; victims and perpetrators of violence, adults who lack the skills and resources to acquire and maintain employment, those with felony records and ex-offenders who lack the moral, social, and personal support to be stable members of society.
The 3R’s was co-founded by Leon El-Alamin, Timothy Abdul-Matin, and Roy Fields. All three of these men have experienced a life of crime, imprisonment, and now they are upstanding citizens who have dedicated their lives to refine, reform, and rebuild their community. With their life experiences they are equipped to take on the task of stabilizing their community, not only can they identify risk factors of youth, adults, ex-offenders, but they know firsthand the techniques needed to intervene before and/or after one becomes a perpetrator or victim of such.
